R Read & Sons (Cheadle) Ltd began soon after 1918 and offered petrol, parts and service to motorists for much of rest of the 20th century, from its garage on the High Street.  I understand they also had premises on Gatley Road, Cheadle.  Both buildings were gone by some date before 2012.
